Commemorating National Health Day 2023, Hima Gizi is holding a seminar and exhibition
Gunung Anyar, Surabaya – (22/11/2023) National Health Day is celebrated every November 12, and this year has entered its 58th anniversary. This certainly attracted the attention of the FPK UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya Nutrition Student Association to hold an activity to commemorate National Health Day on Wednesday, November 22 2023, which took place in the auditorium on the 2nd floor of FPK.
The activity started at 08.00 am and was opened by the Vice Dean for Academic and Institutional Affairs, Dr. Suryani, M. Si. by cutting the ribbon and reading the basmalah together. Before this activity was carried out, there was a TikTok healthy food challenge competition which was attended by high school students with cash prizes and certificates for all participants. Then there were 2 series of events held in commemoration of this national health day, namely a national seminar and an exhibition. The theme raised in the seminar was “Healthy Diet Anti Malnutrition” by inviting external speakers, namely Rosalinda Abir Hanifah S. Gz. Meanwhile, the exhibition itself included product innovations from FPK nutrition students in semesters 1 and 3.
The product innovations displayed at this National Health Day exhibition have the theme of foods that have low calories, minimal sugar, and are still rarely produced by food producers. There were 4 classes participating in displaying this food exhibition, namely 2 classes from semester 1 and 2 classes from semester 3. The products on display were low sugar oat cookies, milkfish buns, moringa leaf muffins, and vegetarian nuggets with mentai sauce. Each innovative product must include information on nutritional content and also the benefits of consuming the food. Each innovative product is assessed by FPK nutrition lecturers, and of course there are attractive prizes in the form of cash for the class that has the most interesting innovative product.
Not only that, there is also an exhibition stand that provides free measurements of height, weight, Body Mass Index (BMI) and blood pressure. This certainly attracted enthusiasm from the students, not only from FPK students but there were also students from other faculties who participated, for example FISIP. The next exhibition stand is snacks produced themselves by Hima Gizi FPK members which are of course healthy and affordable. There were also other interesting snacks sold by non-HIMA students, and these really attracted the attention of exhibition visitors.
It is hoped that this National Health Day commemoration will increase the awareness of FPK students to always maintain their health, especially when consuming food. If the food you consume is healthy, your body will also be healthy. Hopefully in the future Hima Gizi FPK UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya can continue to be committed to holding useful events like this again.
