Setigi Sekapuk, Setigi stands for “Selo Tirto Giri,” which translates to “Rock, Water, and Hill” in Javanese. It is a unique tourist attraction in Sekapuk village, Ujungpangkah sub-district, Gresik. Here are some key highlights: Setigi was once a limestone quarry, and it has been transformed into a beautiful tourist spot, showcasing the area’s natural beauty and creativity. Visitors can enjoy a mix of natural landscapes and artistic sculptures made from the remaining limestone. There are caves, artificial lakes, and beautifully carved limestone formations. The site also features cultural elements, including traditional Javanese architecture and sculptures that reflect the local heritage. Visitors can engage in various activities such as exploring the caves, boating on the artificial lake, and taking in panoramic views from hilltops.

Wagos Gosari, Wagos is an acronym for “Wisata Alam Gosari,” which means “Gosari Natural Tourism.” It is located in Gosari village, Ujungpangkah sub-district, Gresik. Here are some of its attractions: Wagos is known for its lush greenery, scenic landscapes, and serene environment, making it an ideal spot for nature lovers. The area offers various adventure activities such as trekking, camping, and exploring the local flora and fauna. Visitors can experience the local culture and traditions of the Gosari village, including traditional crafts and local cuisine. Efforts have been made to promote sustainable tourism, ensuring that the natural beauty and cultural heritage are preserved while providing economic benefits to the local community. Both Setigi Sekapuk and Wagos Gosari are excellent examples of how former industrial or natural areas can be repurposed into attractive tourism sites, offering unique experiences that combine natural beauty, cultural heritage, and recreational activities.

Surabaya Zoo (Kebun Binatang Surabaya) is one of the oldest and largest zoos in Southeast Asia.
